In my daily diet there are always healthy products, but there are also some completely unique ones that I would like to share with you. Time for superfoods! Superfoods are superfoods that have beneficial properties for our health and well-being. Products belonging to this category contain vitamins, minerals and other valuable bioactive compounds important for our body. They have a natural origin, and their regular consumption produces beneficial effects. One of the superfoods is raw cacao.

Cocoa is the ground seeds of cocoa fruit, a tree that grows wild in the equatorial forests of South America and Central America. Its health properties were already appreciated by the Mayans and Aztecs. The drink prepared on the basis of the powder was called by them the drink of the gods. No wonder, cocoa has exceptional nutritional values.

Seeds are a source of vitamins, trace elements and healthy fats. They are a treasury of antioxidants, mainly polyphenols. Cocoa, despite its content of stimulants such as caffeine and theobromine, can relieve stress. The relaxing properties are attributed to the presence of valeric acid, known for its calming effect.

In addition, cocoa is a source of magnesium, which helps to calm down in stressful situations. It also contains tryptophan, which is used by the brain to produce a neurotransmitter called serotonin, which promotes inner peace and happiness. It is also a source of potassium, calcium and iron. The high content of dietary fiber supports the digestive processes in the body.

Raw non-alkalized cocoa has the most valuable properties. Its seeds are neither roasted nor roasted, but only fermented and dried. Seeds intended for the production of traditional cocoa are subjected to high temperature, which preserves less nutritional value than raw ones.

Cocoa is great for smoothies, drinks, pastries, desserts, oatmeal, as a topping, e.g. for pancakes or power balls.
