Description
Coconut sugar is obtained from the coconut palm juice from which the water has been evaporated. It has a deep brown colour and an intense caramel scent. It is less sweet than white sugar and added to the dishes gives them a unique taste and aroma. It is rich in nutrients, including B group vitamins and potassium. It has a lower glycemic index (GI 35) than white sugar, for which it is an excellent alternative. It is also a source of inulin that supports the proper functioning of the digestive tract. Its advantages include a low melting point and a high burning temperature, which makes it ideal for baking. Store in a dry, cool place. It can be substituted for white / brown sugar. It is great for baking, cocktails and Asian dishes.
